DOLSKÝ MLÝN (Dolský Mill)

First given evidence in 1515 as a mill with three mill-wheels (one of them powered a saw, the other two powered milling mechanism). It was newly built with a bakehouse in 1727. When there was not enough water, it was even used as a malt-mill for castle brewery in Bynovec. In 1814 the mill was complemented distillery. By the end of the 19th century, this was the place where punts going from Ferdinand’s Gorge terminated, so a draft bar was established.  Tax guard was located here for several years. Since 1945 the mill has been abandoned. Nowadays it is just a romantic ruin. Dolský Mill is located in the valley of the Kamenice river. Nearby there are marked trails to Vysoká Lípa, Kamenické Stráně and to Jetřichovice.

FERDINANDOVA SOUTĚSKA (Ferdinand’s Gorge)

Ferdinand’s Gorge is between Srbská Kamenice and Dolský mlýn. After 1881, boat navigation was started – tourists used to use it to get from Srbská Kamenice to Dolský mlýn, a popular trip destination. However, it is impassable now; the blue tourist mark leads higher above the left bank of the Kamenice. The place is accessible from Královský smrk walking a trail across a meadow – at the end of the meadow it is necessary to ford to the opposite bank, until you get to a place where used to be a dam. There are noticeable furrows in the sandstone rocks in the river.
